Confirmation Bias

Seeing only what you want to see

The tendency to search for, interpret, and recall information in a way that confirms one's preexisting beliefs or hypotheses. "People believe what they want to believe." Social media algorithms trap us in confirmation bias loops by showing us only content we agree with, making our worldview seem like the only reality. To think objectively, one must actively seek out "disconfirming evidence."
